PDP president Mehbooba Mufti will approach all stakeholders in Jammu and Kashmir to formulate a joint strategy for moving forward once she is released from detention under PSA, her daughter Iltija Mufti said on Tuesday.
“When restrictions are finally lifted on Ms Mufti, shewill approach all stakeholders for a joint strategy to move forward. She willalso speak to the press about her views on what transpired post 5thAugust,” Iltija tweeted from her mother’s Twitter account.
The former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir was shiftedto her residence on Gupkar Road but continues to be detained under the PublicSafety Act.
“Ms Mufti is home but still booked under PSA. Mediawasn’t given access to her at all despite waiting for hours. Is GoI (Governmentof India) scared that she’ll articulate her views on illegal abrogation ofArticle 370? Time doesn’t change facts or erase a betrayal etched inmemory,” Iltija said.
She said people in J&K were not allowed to expressthemselves on issues such as abrogation of Article 370. “We the people ofJ&K aren’t allowed to voice our dissent on the unilateral decision todismember J&K. But top leadership in the country can keep using Article 370abrogation as political bait,” Iltija wrote in another tweet. She said hermother will be speaking on the issue of abrogation of Article 370 after herrelease.
She said the PDP president has urged the Centre to releaseall detainees immediately including the political leaders jailed within andoutside Jammu and Kashmir.”Meanwhile,Ms Mufti urges GoI to immediately release all detainees including politicalleadership jailed in & outside J&K immediately,” she said.
