A youth injured in an explosion near an encounter site at Sirhama village of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday succumbed to his injuries early today.
Four youth had sustained injuries when an unexploded device suddenly went off as people had gathered at the house damaged in an encounter.
Two militants were killed in the gunfight with security forces on Friday.
“One of the four injured succumbed in the wee hours today at SMHS,” an official said.
He identified the deceased as Yaseen Ahmad Rather son of Mohammad Maqbool Rather of Sirhama Bijbehara.
“Rather had grievous injuries all over his body,” a doctor said.
