Addition of 400 plus MBBS seats from current academic session historic move: DAK (S)

Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) led by Dr Suhail Naik on Friday welcomed the Letter of Permission (LOP) given to Govt Medical college Anantnag  (GMC-A) and Govt Medical college Baramulla (GMC-B) by Medical council of India (MCI) for starting admissions to 100 MBBS seats in each college from the current Academic session.

In a statement here Dr Naik said that “Letter of Permission(LOP) for starting the admission to MBBS courses for other New GovernmentMedical Colleges of Kathua, Rajouri and Doda is also expected in days.”

   

Dr Owais H Dar, General secretary DAK (S), termed thataddition of 400 plus odd seats a historic move and said it will be the turningpoint in Medical Education history and delivery of medicare services in thehilly state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The doctor’s body thanked Governor’s Advisor, K Vijay Kumarand Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education, Attal Dullo for theirtremendous and dedicated role in achieving this historic feat. DAK also thankedthe crucial role played by Director Coordinator New Medical Colleges, DrYashpal Sharma and, Principals and Medical Superintendents of new medicalcolleges and associated hospitals without whom it would have not been possible.

“We are hopeful that new Medical Colleges and Associatedhospitals will emerge as hub of Medical studies with delivery of best Medicarefacilities for public at large,” the statement added.
