Although its construction work is yet to be completed, water has started to seep in from the roof of the emergency block of sub-district hospital Mendhar.
Details revealed that the construction work of the emergency block was started in 2012-13 and has almost been completed, with some minor finishing work pending.
However, the rainwater has started to seep in from roof of the building, raising serious concerns towards the quality of work that was executed.
Vikas Sharma and Mohammad Khursheed, among other locals said, “Mendhar sub district hospital is a vital institution as it caters to the need of three tehsils and a vast border belt. The emergency block is a long pending need and is about to get completed, but the water leakage has raised doubts over execution of work.”
On being contacted, deputy commissioner, Poonch, Rahul Yadav, assured to initiate a probe into the issue.
