Expressing concern over the spread of Swine Flu, Coordination Committee of Dental Surgeons J&K (CCDS) Friday urged the authorities to provide basic facilities to the dental sections to combat the spreading of H1N1 virus.
"CCDS expresses grave concern regarding the threat posed to dental surgeons across state in view of surging Swine Flu cases. We urge higher authorities to upgrade and provide basic requisites to the dental sections of the hospitals across state to combat spread of Swine Flu and safeguard the dental surgeons as they come in close contact with the patients which makes them more susceptible to acquire this disease," said Dr Imtiyaz Banday, Chairman CCDS, in a statement.
"CCDS also stresses the authorities to take major steps on scientific grounds so that doctors across the state which are treating suspected cases be provided with all logistics so that their concerns are looked upon on the scientific guidelines," he added.
CCDS has also urged upon the government to increase the quantum of awareness among the people in a way so that preventive measures be recognized and implemented by the public to prevent the spread of the disease which is a key in stopping its spread.
