Diarrhoea outbreak in Kupwara village, 500 affected

Over 500 people were affected in Kupwara village on Friday following the outbreak of diarrhoea, officials said.

Block medical officer (BMO) Kupwara Fareed Shaheen Chowdhary confirmed that over 500 people were affected by the disease at Jagerpora.

   

Officials said mostly females at the village have been affected with it.

“The inhabitants of the area have been advised to drink boiled water. The people should drink boiled water and take extra precautions to protect themselves,” said Dr. Nazir, who was part of medical team at Jagerpora.

He added they have admitted patients in their mobile camp. “We are monitoring the situation. There is no need to panic. Everything is under control,” he said.
