Don’t hesitate to visit hospitals in case of emergency: DAK

Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Monday said hospitals in Kashmir continue to provide care for urgent situations and emergency patients.

“People should not hesitate to visit a hospital if they havean emergency,” said DAK President Dr Nisar ul Hassan.

   

He said people have been asking if it was still possible forthem to go to the hospitals for problems not related to coronavirus. “Theyare a little more apprehensive about going to a hospital. They choose not to goto hospital out of fear of contracting the virus,” he said.

He said it was importantfor people to know that medical staff were available round-the-clock to attendand manage all emergencies. “People must know that there are separate clinicsand isolation wards in hospitals for CoVID-19 patients,” said Dr Hassan.

He said hospitals across the Valley have cancelled routinevisits and postponed all procedures and surgeries that were not urgent oremergent. “This has been done as an abundance of caution during this seriousoutbreak and historical public health emergency,” he said.
