Government directs sealing illegal clinics, unauthorised labs immediately

The government on Monday directed district authorities across Kashmir division to seal all unauthorized clinics and testing laboratories to protect poor patients from falling prey to fake medicos. 

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan instructed all Deputy Commissioners of Kashmir division, including Kargil and Leh to immediately seat illegal clinics and labs. 

   

Khan gave the directions while reviewing medical services in the Kashmir administrative division. 

Official figures reveal that 44 illegal and unauthorised clinics were already sealed in different areas which were operated by incompetent persons.

The Divisional Commissioner directed all DCs to crack down on illegal, unauthorised clinics and testing laboratories and arrest the culprits and take strict legal action against them.

He also directed the DCs to start regular drive in coordination with police in their respective districts to identify illegal clinics, fake doctors and unauthorised testing laboratories for immediate action. 

He also directed for sending the report to the Divisional Commissioner’s office on daily basis.

Khan reiterated that government was committed to providing better health care facilities to the people across the valley including Leh and Kargil. 

Deputy Director of Health Services, Chief Medical Officers, Block Medical Officers, Assistant Commissioner and other concerned officers were present in the meeting whereas Deputy Commissioners participated through video conferencing.
