'Lack of health policy hits patient-care'

While addressing the meeting, DAK president, Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan said that patients were suffering in government hospitals because of lack of facilities.

Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) Friday said that lack of a comprehensive health policy was responsible for the healthcare mess as patients have been suffering in government hospitals for want of facilities.

The DAK spokesperson, Dr Riyaz Daga said that DAK held a meeting of executive body here today wherein various health related issues were discussed.

While addressing the meeting, DAK president, Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan said that patients were suffering in government hospitals because of lack of facilities.

“The medicare delivery system is in a state of complete disorder because of lack of comprehensive health care policy. Lack of indigenous policy is responsible for healthcare mess and doctors have to face the brunt,” Dr Nisar said. Meanwhile, DAK has condemned assault on a female resident doctor in Government Medical College Jammu and demanded immediate arrest of the accused, warning that if he was not arrested, Kashmir doctors will also join striking doctors of Jammu.
