Makeshift health centre at Ganderbal ‘lack facilities,’ patients suffer

People here on Tuesday complained of lack of medical facilities at Primary Health Centre (PHC) Kachan.

The centre was turned intoalternative facility for patients who used to visit the District Hospital fortreatment. However, after the hospital was designated as the COVID19 hospital,the general patients were asked to visit the Kachan Centre for treatment.

   

Locals complained theCentre does not have proper healthcare facilities including USG, ECG, X-Ray andother facilities for carrying out important investigation.

“The districtadministration has failed to make proper alternate arrangements for thepatients who require undergoing important tests. The Health Centre lacks properfacilities,” said Bilal Wani, a social activist.

He said the districtadministration should make proper alternate arrangements for patients so thatthey do not face any inconvenience.

Deputy CommissionerGanderbal, Shafqat Iqbal said he will pass on the directions to the healthofficials to upgrade the facilities at the PHC. “We will address the issues ina couple of days,” he said.
