‘Measles and Rubella’ vaccination workshop held at Ramban

A one day workshop for imparting training to the concerned staff of Ramban district regarding proper implementation of the “Measles and Rubella” (MR) vaccination programme was organized today at Ramban by the National Public Health Surveillance Project of World Health Organization, Jammu, in collaboration with the Directorate of Family Welfare, Maternity Child Health & Immunization J&K.

While speaking on the occasion, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Ramban, Dr. Saifuddin Khan, exhorted the trainees to learn the procedure for successful implementation of the MR vaccination campaign in the district.

   

Deputy CMO, Dr. Mohammed Iqbal Bhat, also addressed the trainees. The resource persons, Dr. Ravinder Pal Singh and Dr. Akshay Kumar trained the staff through power-point presentation.

Two sessions were conducted during the workshop wherein the Block Medical Officers (BMOs) of Gool, Banihal, Batote and Ukhral , Dr. Baaheer Ahmed Tragwal, Dr. Tanvir Ahmed, Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Sumbria and Dr. A H Bohra, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Ramban, Dr. DV Singh, doctors, Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs), in-charge Child Development Project Officers, Community Health Officers, paramedical staff and teachers were trained to do micro and macro planning , the required documentation and arrangements for ensuring 100% vaccination.

Under the campaign which will start from September 1, children between the age of 9 months to 16 years will be vaccinated against Measles and Rubella diseases.

In the first phase, the students of all the government and private schools besides Madrasas will be vaccinated. In the second outreach phase, a door to door campaign will be carried out.
