Restoration of seniority a great initiative: DAK (S)

Doctors Association Kashmir led by Dr Suhail Naik on Saturday welcomed the restoration of seniority and transfers in health department.

In a statement  hereDr Naik said, ” It is worth appreciating and we are highly thankful toFinancial Commissioner Health, Jammu and Kashmir for initiating comprehensivereformative up-gradation and cleaning up the vital health department fromnepotism, favoritism and out of turn promotions.”

   

“Parachuting of some junior doctors who were having politicobureaucratic clout to administrator posts was a demoralizing situation forsenior doctors and therefore their demotion to respective slots was dire needof hour to restore the pristine glory of sacrosanct profession,” he added.

Dr Owais H Dar general secretary DAK (S) said that “suchhealth reformatives are utmost important to run the system with dignity butthere is still a huge gray area where concrete corrective measures are to betaken to make this system vibrant and dynamic. There are still large number ofjunior administrators who have been left out and have not been touched.” DrOwais added.

 “All thoseadministrators who have been illegally promoted should be demoted back to theiroriginal position and slot and merit, credibility and seniority should be givendue consideration as per established recruitment rules,” the statement said,adding that ” the DAK is highly indebted to Advisor Health who initiated thisprocess and hopes that this process of clean up will continue further whichwill go a long way in addressing the demands of aggrieved senior doctorsbesides restoring the discipline and seniority in the health department ofJ&K state.”
