‘SDH Bhaderwah awaits posting of doctors’

Demanding better medicare at Sub-District Hospital, Bhaderwah, and posting of specialist doctors against vacant posts, Shri Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SSDS) and Anjuman-e-Isalamia (AIB) threatened to hit the streets, if their demands are not met.

To put forth their demands, AIB and SSDS held a joint pressconference at Bhaderwah on Saturday, which was supported by several politicalparties.

While ruing the paucity of doctors in the SDH, districtPresidents of AIB and SSDS, Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh and Ved Kumar Kotwal, said,”The government prematurely transferred doctors and has failed to fill thevacant posts. As a result, the SDH lies in shambles.”

They demanded the filling up of vacant posts of specialistdoctors, especially Anesthetic, Radiologist, Gynaecologist and ENT, at anearliest and also calling the the doctors, who had gone on long leaveimmediately after joining at SDH Bhadarwah, back to the hospital.

“This is pathetic on part of the government in generaland Health Department in particular that instead of filling the vacantspecialist posts they transferred the recently posted Anesthetic, Radiologist,Gynecologist specialist to GMC Doda without providing any replacement. As aresult, the poor patients have no other option but to rush to Doda or Jammu fortreatment,” said President SSDS Bhaderwah.

“This is our joint cause and we are fighting for thegenuine demands. We, at SDH Bhaderwah, are already facing paucity of doctors.Against 34 sanctioned posts, only 13 doctors are posted at the hospital. If thedoctors who have been recently attached at GMC Doda by some vested interest arenot called back immediately, we will take our struggle to the streets,”said President AIB.
