In the order, the mission director has directed the district developmental commissioners and chairmen of district health societies of Jammu, Doda, Kathua, Kishtwar, Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi, Udhapmur, Samba, Srinagar, Kupwara and Bandipora to not allow the terminated employees to rejoin.

“All those NHM employees who have been terminated on account of their unauthorised absence and participation in the strike, shall remain terminated and not be allowed to rejoin,” the order read, adding, “In case, if the terminated employees have approached the court through petition for reinstatement, the same be promptly taken note of and contested on merits in order to avoid any adverse orders against the department.”

Pertinently, 217 employees had been terminated in Kishtwar, 51 in Doda, 65 in Reasi, 9 in Rajouri and 8 in Poonch. On being contacted, chief medical officer, Poonch, Dr Mumtaz Bhatti said, “Eight officials were terminated in Poonch and were reinstated later by the deputy commissioner.
