‘Terminated NHM employees shall not be allowed to rejoin’

The mission director of national health mission (NHM), Bhupinder Kumar, Thursday issued an order stating that the NHM employees who had been terminated shall remain terminated.

In the order, the mission director has directed the districtdevelopmental commissioners and chairmen of district health societies of Jammu,Doda, Kathua, Kishtwar, Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi, Udhapmur, Samba, Srinagar,Kupwara and Bandipora to not allow the terminated employees to rejoin.

   

“All those NHM employees who have been terminated on accountof their unauthorised absence and participation in the strike, shall remainterminated and not be allowed to rejoin,” the order read, adding, “In case, ifthe terminated employees have approached the court through petition for reinstatement,the same be promptly taken note of and contested on merits in order to avoidany adverse orders against the department.”

Pertinently, 217 employees had been terminated in Kishtwar, 51 in Doda, 65 in Reasi, 9 in Rajouri and 8 in Poonch. On being contacted, chief medical officer, Poonch, Dr Mumtaz Bhatti said, “Eight officials were terminated in Poonch and were reinstated later by the deputy commissioner. But the deputy commissioner kept the order of reinstatement in abeyance. The NHM employees have now brought a court stay and the order remains in abeyance.”
