Rajasthan violence: Death toll 6

Bharatpur, Sep 15: With the recovery of three more bodies, the death toll has risen to six in the violence-hit district where a clash broke out between two communities over a land dispute yesterday, police said.
 Though the situation was under control today, curfew remained in force in six police station areas of the district where additional forces have been deployed.
 “One body was recovered in the morning while two others were spotted floating in a well in the evening. With this, the death toll in Bharatpur has risen to six,” Additional Chief Secretary (Home) P K Deb told PTI in Jaipur.
 “Postmortem of two bodies were conducted today and it was confirmed that one of them was killed in police firing,” he said, adding that the government has announced compensation for the victims.
 “The government announced compensation of Rs five lakh for the next of the kin of those killed, Rs two lakh for permanently disabled, Rs one lakh for the seriously injured and Rs 25,000 for the ordinarily injured,” Deb said.
 Bharatpur District Collector Krishna Kunal said the situation in the entire area remained under control and curfew remained in force today in all the six police station areas where the clashes broke out but it would be relaxed for three hours tomorrow from 12 noon to 3 pm.
 He said 21 people are injured who are undergoing treatment at different hospitals in Bharatpur, Alawar and Jaipur.
