A strong Navy remains a necessary guarantor of India’s security and prosperity, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said Tuesday, addressing top commanders of the Indian Navy.
The commanders will extensively deliberate on emergingchallenges facing the country in the maritime domain at a three-day conferencewhich began Monday.
In her address, Sitharaman touched upon various operational issues and said the primacy of the Carrier Battle Group (CBG) in maritime operations and its ability to shape the battle space was very evident.
