Aspirant runs from pillar to post to seek justice

Two representations of my younger brother namely ArshadHussain Bhat to seek promotion were ignored by the concerned authoritiesdespite two posts being vacant in the department.

He had sought legitimate promotion for the post of seniorassistant. These two 100% promotion quota posts were not filled by the DPC heldon 02-08-2018 despite the candidate being eligible by having passed secretariatassistant examination his representations are lying unattended. Both therepresentations stand sent in hard and soft forms but the fate of these is stillnot known even after the lapse of more than three months now.

I am pained to see my younger brother running from pillar topost to seek justice from August 2018 but all his efforts so-far have gone invain.

I urge Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik to lookinto the matter and get the grievance of my younger brother redressed.

Job aspirants appeal to KU

This is in response to the merit list of contractuallecturers published by the English department of distance education Universityof Kashmir   2019. The merit list hasbeen prepared as per UGC regulations in July 2018 wherein 30 marks have beenallotted to PhD candidates leaving NET/Jrf/SET candidates in the lurch.

We want to bring it into the notice of the KU authoritiesthat as per  UGC notification issued on16 October 2018 every PhD candidate isn’t exempted from NET/SET and cannot beawarded 30 points if he or she hasn’t cleared eligibility tests. The onlyexceptions are those PhD holders, who have been enrolled prior to July 11,2009. NET/SET/SLET  is a must for entrylevel in higher education teachers. The UGC has made it mandatory for allentry-level higher education teachers to clear the NET or SET or state leveleligibility test.

We the residents of village Sonerwani in northKashmir’s  Bandipora district request thePower Development Department to regularise the power supply in our area.  Regular breakdown in electricity supply hasplunged Sonerwani and adjoining villages in darkness.

Worst affected are the students, who are preparing for theirdifferent board, university and competitive exams. From past 6 months we arewitnessing unscheduled power cuts and electricity remains cut off for nearly 20hours. We hope that the concerned department would look into the matter at theearliest and redress our grievance.
