Candidates allege policy violation in J&K Bank recruitment process

We the candidates who appeared for the written examinations for the posts of probationary officers and banking associates in Jammu and Kashmir Bank recently want to bring  certain facts into the nocice of the concerned authorities.

The J&K Bank announced 250 posts of probationary officers and 1200 posts of business associates under advertisementNo.JKB/Rectt/2018-1579 in Oct,2018. The applications were called from permanent residents of J&K as per district wise recruitment & the hailing district being asked during the online application process. The preliminary examination were conducted for POs on 22 April and for BAs on 24,25 & 26th April. The exam was conducted in a transparent manner by the premier exam conducting agency IBPS which conducts all the banking and Insurance exams in the country. The results for preliminary exams for POs were declared on 9 May which was exactly as per the criteria mentioned in the initial recruitment notice as per district wise requirement and the merit was decided independently for each district. Given the abundance of resources available for Jammu region students and the high level of competition, the cut-off for 4 districts viz, Jammu,Samba,Kathua andUdhampur went higher than the rest of the state. Using this as a tool unnecessary disturbance at state level was caused by some mischievous elements in order to derive political mileage.  This  created chaos which was backed by the regional political parties of Jammu.  These parties created unnecessary pressure on J&K Bank and the Governor’s administration and the JK Bank was forced to act in contrast with their core recruitment policy. After the uncalled protests by a handful of aspirants the Bank put out a notice in public demand clearly stating that the recruitment will be conducted as per district wise merit but there was a change in events and a uniform cut-off was decided for the entire state as 40 points. This is clear violation of the initial recruitment notification put out by the J&K Bank. There is no such policy wherein any institution can tamper with its recruitment policy in the midst of the exam process. Our most important concern is the final selection wise of both PO and BAs should be as per district wise merit and according to the core recruitment policy of the bank, which has always been district wise. We the aspirants for 18 districts of J&K State want the final result to be transparent and declared as soon as possible as per district wise vacancies and as per their subsequent merit.

Make degree college Chadoora functional

We want to bring it into the notice of the authorities that establishment of a degree college in main town Chadoora was our long pending demand. Chadoora is a centrally located place and is accessible to all.  It has vast catchment area. Till regular buildings for the college are constructed at the identified land at Chadoora, the best place to start the college is a spacious building belonging to HPMC at Chadoora. The authorities have already got the buildings renovated and the concerned corporation has issued a no objection certificate in this regard. The authorities should respect the sentiments and aspirations of vast majority of people and start the college at the identified place at the earliest.

There are some elements who are trying to mislead the authorities and the people. They should refrain from such acts and allow the college to start functioning without any further delay.
