Candidates allege policy violation in J&K Bank recruitment process

We the candidates who appeared for the written examinationsfor the posts of probationary officers and banking associates in Jammu andKashmir Bank recently want to bring certain facts into the nocice of the concerned authorities.

The J&K Bank announced 250 posts of probationaryofficers and 1200 posts of business associates underadvertisementNo.JKB/Rectt/2018-1579 in Oct,2018. The applications were calledfrom permanent residents of J&K as per district wise recruitment & thehailing district being asked during the online application process.Thepreliminary examination were conducted for POs on 22 April and for BAs on 24,25& 26th April. The exam was conducted in a transparent manner by the premierexam conducting agency IBPS which conducts all the banking and Insurance examsin the country. The results for preliminary exams for POs were declared on 9May which was exactly as per the criteria mentioned in the initial recruitmentnotice as per district wise requirement and the merit was decided independentlyfor each district. Given the abundance of resources available for Jammu regionstudents and the high level of competition, the cut-off for 4 districts viz,Jammu,Samba,Kathua andUdhampur went higher than the rest of the state. Usingthis as a tool unnecessary disturbance at state level was caused by somemischievous elements in order to derive political mileage.  This created chaos which was backed by the regional political parties ofJammu.  These parties created unnecessarypressure on J&K Bank and the Governor’s administration and the JK Bank wasforced to act in contrast with their core recruitment policy. After theuncalled protests by a handful of aspirants the Bank put out a notice in publicdemand clearly stating that the recruitment will be conducted as per districtwise merit but there was a change in events and a uniform cut-off was decidedfor the entire state as 40 points. This is clear violation of the initialrecruitment notification put out by the J&K Bank. There is no such policywherein any institution can tamper with its recruitment policy in the midst ofthe exam process. Our most important concern is the final selection wise ofboth PO and BAs should be as per district wise merit and according to the corerecruitment policy of the bank, which has always been district wise. We theaspirants for 18 districts of J&K State want the final result to betransparent and declared as soon as possible as per district wise vacancies andas per their subsequent merit.

Make degree college Chadoora functional

We want to bring it into the notice of the authorities thatestablishment of a degree college in main town Chadoora was our long pendingdemand. Chadoora is a centrally located place and is accessible to all.  It has vast catchment area. Till regularbuildings for the college are constructed at the identified land at Chadoora, the best place to start the college is a spacious building belonging to HPMC atChadoora. The authorities have already got the buildings renovated and theconcerned corporation has issued a no objection certificate in this regard. Theauthorities should respect the sentiments and aspirations of vast majority ofpeople and start the college at the identified place at the earliest.

There are some elements who are trying to mislead theauthorities and the people. They should refrain from such acts and allow thecollege to start functioning without any further delay.
