Make authorities, contractors accountable
The road leading to Umarabad sector-B Peerbagh was macadamised last year but the condition of the road is so bad that suspension system of vehicles has stopped working.
Authorities need to be accountable for taxpayers money as it is evident that contractors have used substandard materials for macadamisation.
Residents decry official apathy
The alleged negligence of the government has taken a heavy toll on lives and properties of residents of people residing at Gulshanabad, Laloo Sheshgaribagh, Mushtaq Colony, KhaliqAbad, Ganghbug and other areas around Hyderpora.
Three years ago government had taken up central drainage system project in these areas. Around 4 km stretch of the road was involved in the project. Though the drain has been completed a year ago but till date road has not been macadamized, dilapidated condition of the road has made our lives miserable. This 4-km stretch is dotted with potholes and ditches and during rainy days entire stretch gets water logged. In case of any medical emergency it becomes very difficult to move a patient to the hospital. We feel ashamed when we drive our vehicles on main roads of city as our vehicles have suffered maximum damage. It seems we are living in a far-flung area.
We the resident of these area request the state administration and Governor Satya Pal Malik to look into this problem and direct the concerned department to blacktop this 4 km stretch of road without any further delay.
