Narkara Gangbug road awaits attention

We, the inhabitants of Narakara, district Budgam, want to bring to your kind notice that our village falls in between Ompora (district Budgam) and Gangbugh (district Srinagar). The road connecting Gangbugh with Ompora has been macadamized, but one km stretch in between Gangbug and Narkara has been left unattended for the last ten years. This patch of the road gives a very tough time for the commuters, especially patients and elderly people. The concerned authorities were requested time, and again, however, our requests are falling on deaf ears. We request the concerned authorities to take immediate steps in this regard.

Overcharging by Sumo drivers

During the lockdown period, when the sumo drivers were boarding only half the number of passengers, they used to demand a double fare. When the lockdown has ended, they are still demanding high fares in every nook and corner of the valley. The fare from Bonigam to Anantnag is actually Rs 30, without any official communique now they have raised it to Rs 40. Similarly, fare from Anantnag to Srinagar is Rs 100. During the lockdown, they used to take Rs 200 boarding only five passengers but even now, when they are boarding full passengers, an enhanced amount of Rs 130 is taken from passengers. In it’s Shahar Shahar Manzar Program of Radio Kashmir Srinagar, RTO Kashmir categorically ruled out any hike in the passenger fare for sumo vehicles. Now it is requested to the concerned authorities to come up with the genuine and official rate list of fares for all routes of the valley, so that common people are no longer looted in the name of hiked fare rates.
