IS ANYBODY LISTENING? | Repair roads in New Colony, Batamaloo

We, the residents of New Colony, Batamaloo, Srinagar, are facing a lot of inconvenience due to the dilapidated condition of the road from the Friends Colony Alochi Bagh up to Bazar Batamaloo via SD Colony, from Bazar Batamaloo up to Dhobi Mohalla finishing end and another road of a little length on the rare side of a Government School, New Colony, Batamaloo. Recent heavy snowfall in Srinagar district caused significant damage to the various main and interlinked roads within the Srinagar Municipal limits. This is the cause of concern for the pedestrian/ vehicular movements. We request the concerned authorities to repair the road as soon as possible

Non-availability of public transport in Hajibagh

We, the residents of Hajibagh, are facing a lot of inconvenience due to the non-availability of public transport facilities even though we are just some kilometres away from Lal Chowk. The other problem that adds to our difficulties is that according to papers, we belong to district Budgam. However, in the case of any developmental project, SMC is responsible. In this dilemma, we have been caught in a whirlpool. The result is that we have not been able to access any concerned official to redress our issue. Some years ago, a minibus was started from Lalchowk to Soibugh, but due to some reasons, we were denied this facility. To add to our miseries, the sumo drivers fill all the seats at Soibugh and do not leave any seat for the natives of Hajibagh. Everyone is disturbed by this, but the students and older people are most hurt. Students almost miss their exams because of this. We have approached many authorities but to no avail. They promised to redress our problems, but nothing happened on the ground level. So, we request the concerned authorities to look into this matter and start the minibus service at the earliest.

‘Depute more doctors at GB Pant hospital’

We, the people of different districts of Kashmir valley, are suffering due to the non-availability of doctors at GB Pant hospital, Sonwar, Srinagar. Every day nearly 4000 children are treated here. However, there are not enough doctors in the hospital. This causes a lot of inconvenience to the parents of the patients. We now request the concerned authorities to look into the matter and depute more doctors at GB Pant hospital so that children and their patients do not suffer in future.

Macadamize Hyderbeigh-Tilagam road

The Hyderbeigh-Tilagam road is in a dilapidated condition for over two years now. The pathetic state of this road speaks volumes about the non-serious attitude of the administration. This road is accessed by more than a dozen villages en route. Several representations have been given to the concerned authorities, but no action has been taken so far.

The worst sufferers are the patients who have to be transported to District Hospital or Srinagar Hospitals. Moreover, the damage to both public and private vehicles is enormous. The people of this area (falling in Tehsil Pattan, District Baramulla) appeal to the Lt. Governor to intervene and issue directions to the concerned Departments to repair this road followed by proper macadamization.

Aspirants for Class IV posts appeal to Chairman JKSSB

JKSSB had advertised about 8575 class IV posts in June-July 2020. The minimum qualification for these posts is matriculation, and the maximum qualification is class 12th. Recently, the JKSSB conducted the written test for these posts in three shifts 27th February, 28th February and 1st March 2021. As per the JKSSB syllabus, the subjects that are to be tested are basic English, mathematics, general awareness and reasoning, but the question papers of these examinations were tough. Many of the candidates were unable to complete their papers because they were not prepared for such difficult questions. The level of the question paper was very high, even for Naib Tehsildar and Accounts Assistant posts. The candidates appeal to the chairman of JKSSB to look into the matter and help the aspirants get what they deserve.

Regularisation of REK teachers

In 2019, 2750 Rehbar-e-Khel teachers were appointed by selection committees of different districts formed by the Government. Many of the appointed teachers are having PG, M. Phil and Ph. D degrees. But they are being paid only rs 100 per day by the department, which is not enough for them to take care of their families. In this regard, a delegation of United Front of Rehbar-e-Khel teachers headed by President Mr Sabzar, Gen. Secretary Mr Javid Iqbal and Mr Mudasir Muzzafer met various Union Ministers, including Hon’ble Union Minister Dr Jatinder Singh. All the Hon’ble Ministers had given a patient hearing and had assured the delegation that all the issues shall be resolved at the earliest.

The former Lt. Governor G. C. Murmu had also constituted a committee in order to revise the policy in February 2020, but nothing has been done to date in this regard.

I, on behalf of the United Front of Rehbar-e-Khel teachers, request the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to regularise the services of Rehbar-e-Khel teachers so that our worries are set at rest.

Shift the UPHC, Wanganpora to the government building

Abuilding was constructed by the J&K government at Chandihar, Wanganpora, Srinagar, seventeen years ago to shift the Urban Public Health Centre. But the UPHC continues to function from a rented building in the same area even though the construction of this building is completed. The people of the locality have repeatedly appealed to the authorities to shift the UPHC to this building but no avail. We now request the lieutenant governor and the DC Srinagar to kindly look into the matter and make this building functional in order to prevent wastage of public money.
