'Man held with country made pistol'

Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday claimed it arrested a person with a country made pistol and 7 live cartridges from ChowkChabutra area of the old city.

SHO PaccaDanga, DheerajNagpal told Greater Kashmir that GopalDass of Circular Road, LowerMastgarh was held by a police party of ChowkChabutra police post.

“The person has no previous crime record. He purchased the weapon from a non-state resident only few days back. The intent of purchasing the weapon is being investigated,” Nagpal said.

He said that the accused has been booked in case FIR number 119/2018 under section 3/25 of the Arms Act at police post ChowkChabutra.

The arrest and seizure was made by a police party led by SI Purab Singh, incharge police post ChowkChabutra under the guidance of SHO PaccaDanga, DheerajNagpal.
