15 new dengue cases reported in 2 days, 184 test positive so far, 110 in Jammu district

Fifteen (15) new dengue cases have been reported at the Government Medical and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu and its associated hospitals in the last two days, thus taking the total number of dengue patients in Jammu region to 184.  

Malariologist Dr Saki Mohammad told Greater Kashmir that the situation is alarming but is under control.  

Eleven (11) fresh dengue cases were reported today on November 13 and 4 cases were reported yesterday at (GMC &H) Jammu and its associated hospitals, sources said.  

“Around 1477 samples have been received and 1436 tested in different government hospitals of Jammu region,” they said adding, “1252 samples were found negative and 184 samples have been tested positive with dengue symptoms”.

A total of 110 dengue cases have alone been reported in Jammu district i.e. 68 males and 42 females), whereas a single dengue case has been reported from Kishtwar.

Seventeen (17) dengue cases have been reported from Samba, 30 from Kathua, 5 from Udhampur, 2 from Reasi, 4 from Rajouri and 3 from Poonch district.

Apart from this, 2 dengue cases have been reported from Kashmir, 3 from other states, while 7 cases with unknown address have also been tested positive for dengue.

Malariologist Dr Saki Mohammad said that there is possibility of dengue cases but it will decline with fall in temperature. He said, “the situation is alarming but under control”.  

He said, “There is a possibility that dengue cases may rise in the coming days but with fall temperature they will go down”.

He said, “There is no need to panic as the government hospitals are fully equipped to tackle the situation”.
