2 children rescued from kidnappers in Jammu, 2 held

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday said that it has rescued two children from the captivity of their abductors in Jammu and arrested two peoples in this connection.

Police said that Anirudh Sharma, a class 5th student of ArmySchool Kaluchack was kidnapped by some unidentified people from outside hishome at Dassal village of Bari Brahamana after he was dropped there in the schoolvan on May 5.

   

After a written complaint was lodged by the father of theminor boy, several police teams were constituted to trace out the boy, policesaid.

“Today, the child was recovered and later reunited with hisfamily members,” IG Jammu MK Sinha told Greater Kashmir.

The police officer said that one person, who was part of thegang that kidnapped the boy, has been arrested and further investigation takenup.

He also negated the reports doing rounds on social mediathat the child was released by the kidnappers only after they were paid theransom amount by the family members of the boy.

As per reports, the kidnappers were demanding Rs 1 crore forthe release of the child.

Meanwhile, in another breakthrough, a minor girl was rescuedfrom her kidnappers by Jammu and Kashmir Police within 24 hours of receivingthe complaint in Udhampur police station.

Police said that a written complaint was lodged at Udhampurpolice station by the family members of the girl on Monday claiming one personof Maidana, Poonch, had kidnapped her.

Followed by this, police said that various teams wereconstituted to trace out the girl and within 24 hours of receiving thecomplaint, the girl was rescued from the kidnapper from Bathindi area of Jammu.

“The accused has been arrested and the minor girl handedover to her legal heirs after completing the legal formalities,” police added.
