An 11-year-old boy and his 7-year-old brother drowned in Tawi River here on Wednesday, police said.
They said that at around 3 pm, Mohammad Tariq (11) andMohammad Muddasir (7), sons of Ghulam Hussain of Bathoi, Mahore, Reasi atpresent Lower Barjalta, Chattha, Satwari, drowned when they were bathing inRiver Tawi near Barjalta area falling under the jurisdiction of Satwari policestation.
As per reports, when the locals saw the minor siblingsplummeting down the water, they made a telephonic call to the PCR andaccordingly, within minutes, police post Chattha team reached the spot butcouldn’t save the children.
At the time of filing of this report, the father of thechildren had not reached home as he was out due to some engagement.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections of thelaw and taken up further investigation.
