Former legislator and senior leader of Peoples Democratic Party Firdous Tak has sought immediate financial assistance for the victims of a fire incident which left three residential houses gutted in Marwah area of Kishtwar.

In a press statement today, Tak said that fire broke out in Nawapachi village of Marwah, last night, leaving three houses of Bashir Ahmed Lone, Muhammad Amin Lone and Muhammad Shafi completely in ashes.

He said that the fire incident has left three families comprising more than 13 persons homeless that too in harsh winters.

“I have taken up the matter with the district administration and sought immediate financial assistance for the fire victim”, he said adding, “We also demand that the administration must sanction IAY cases in their favour so that the victims can reconstruct their house on priority”.

Meanwhile, the PDP leader expressed serious concern over the failure of state administration to reach out to the people of far off and snowbound areas of mountainous Chenab Valley. “It seems that the administration has confined itself to the four walls of government offices leaving people in far off areas at the mercy of God”, he said adding that the reports pouring in from far off areas of Marwah, Warwan, Dachaan, Paddar, Nagsena, Bonjwah, Mahore, Gandohetc suggest that while roads remained closed due to heavy snowfall the administration has not even deputed its officers to access the situation.
