96% candidates appear for SI exam

Total 96% attendance was recorded in the SI examination that was conducted in 31 centers across the state on Sunday.

Chairman Police Recruitment Board (PRB) for SI posts, Arun Kumar Choudhary told Greater Kashmir, “Total 16130 candidates (8069 from Jammu and 8061 from Kashmir region) had qualified the Physical Endurance Test (PET). Out of them, 15424 (Around 96%) appeared for the written test today.” 705 students didn’t appear for the written test.

   

Choudhary said that that 31 centers were established to conduct the test in a transparent manner in the twin capital cities of Jammu and Srinagar.    

Total 698 posts were advertised by the Jammu and Kashmir police in its executive/armed wings and 40 posts in its telecommunication wings. The PET was conducted in 2017. Around 66000 boys and girls appeared in the PET. Of them 16130 qualified the physical test.

Meanwhile, two young IPS officers-SSP Udhampur, Rayees Mohammad Bhat and SP Jammu City South, Sandeep Choudhary provided free coaching to the aspiring SI candidates.
