Adhere to set procedure to inspect judicial records: HC

The Srinagar wing of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Tuesday said that the judicial records can be inspected only if the person willing to inspect them adheres to the set procedure.

An order issued by the registrar judicial, Srinagar reads, “It is impressed upon all the concerned that if any advocate/authorized agent/litigant/ party/ or other than the party i.e. stranger, intends to inspect the judicial record or concerned case file pending in this wing of the High Court, same shall be inspected by the concerned after adhering to the set procedure governed under rules 208 to 224, Chapter-XX of J&K High Court Rules of 1999.”

   

A separate room has also been identified exclusively for inspection of the record by the advocate or concerned party, litigant, authorized agent or stranger. “However, the permission for inspection of the record shall be granted strictly as per the rule in vogue,” it said.
