Advisor Khan, IOC team meet Lieutenant Governor Murmu

After his appointment as Advisor to Lieutenant Governor (LG), Baseer Khan on Wednesday met the LG, GC Chandra Murmu at Raj Bhavan here.

The LG discussed with Advisor various issues relating toholistic development of Jammu and Kashmir.

   

He congratulated Khan for his new appointment and wished hima successful tenure ahead.

Meanwhile, a team of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) led byexecutive director and state head, IOCL, Chandigarh, Sujoy Choudhary, alsocalled on the LG.

Choudhary discussed various issues related to handing overof land for shifting POL depots in Jammu and Kashmir, priority for movement ofPOL tankers on Jammu-Srinagar highway and access through tunnel, especiallyduring winters, with the LG.

Further, exploration for rail network for smooth reach ofPOL to the Valley, expediting change of land use for new retail outlets byindustry were also raised by the IOCL team.

The LG assured the IOC to look into the issues projected bythem and observed the need to expedite the process of land acquisition.

He assured the team that the departments would be asked tocomplete the process in time bound manner.

The LG asked IOC to ensure adequate stock of availability ofthe LPG and other petroleum products in the Union Territory of Jammu andKashmir.
