Army hold drug de-addiction seminar at Delina

Army on Thursday organised a seminar on drug abuse at Delina in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.    

In a statement here an Army spokesman said that “drug abuseis a major cause of concern in Kashmir and therefore, it is important to educatethe youth about the ill effects of drug abuse. Indian Army has been undertakingconsistent efforts to help the civil administration to control this menace.”

   

 He said that the  drug de-addiction centre Baramulla, under theaegis of Dagger Division has strived to make the region drug free. ” Incontinuance with the efforts, a drug de-addiction seminar was conducted by thecentre. The seminar was attended by more than 70 individuals,” the spokesmansaid.

He said, “The seminar was aimed at reaching out to the youngminds and help the youth to know about the prevailing drug menace in thesociety.   They were also told to make acontribution towards making a peaceful and prosperous Kashmir and ultimately astrong and a prosperous nation,” the spokesman added.
