Army nabs impersonator with fake pistol, IDs, in Jammu

Army today nabbed an impersonator with fake pistol, identity cards and uniform, when he tried to gain access into the Sainik Rest House at Jammu Tawi Railway by showing fake documents.

“Around 8.30 am an individual named Avinash Mishra, resident of Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh attempted to gain access into the Sainik Rest House, situated near Saraswati Dham Rail Head Complex Jammu by showing fake documents,” said Defence Spokesperson, Colonel Devendra Anand.

“The alert troops on seeing the fake documents got suspicious and detained the individual while checking at the entry Gate of Rest House,” he said adding, “During the initial questioning, fake identity cards of the Army, other documents and cash were recovered from the individual.”

The accused has been later handed over to the Police Station Trikuta Nagar, Jammu for further investigation.

Meanwhile, police sources admitted the custody of accused handed over by army.

“A case has been registered and further investigation is going on,” an officer said.
