An army soldier shot himself dead with his service rifle inside an Army camp in RS Pura in Jammu district on Monday, police said.
It said the Army Sepoy Thanaminieni Ashok Kumar (23) ofPapinenipalli village in Andhra Pradesh sustained severe injuries after he shothimself with his service weapon at his unit in Miran Sahib.
He was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital(GMC&H) Jammu where doctors declared him as dead on arrival, the policesaid. A case under relevant sections of the law hasbeen registered at police station Miran Sahib and further investigation hasbeen taken up.
