Citizens’ Forum Jammu today said that before finalizing any plans for return of Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley, authorities should ascertain their real aspirations.
We urge Governor Satya Pal Malik to find out aspirations ofthe KPs on their return to the Valley. As far as KPs living in Jammu are concerned, they are our dear friendsand Jammu has adopted and adjusted with them. Love and affection bond the KPs,who came here as migrants, with the locals. In my opinion we the Jammuites haveno problem to get them settled here permanently,” said Citizens’ Forumpresident RK Chadha in a statement.
“We have noticed some fringe elements have beenhobnobbing with Hurriyat people and leaders of NC, PDP and BJP to demand therehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir without giving a concrete plan oftheir security. In the name of giving an impression to the internationalcommunity that we are ready to adjust Pundits with us in Kashmir, is a greatdeception. Those who are willing should go back but first the authorities mustproperly ascertain that among all of them how many want to go back to theValley,” the statement said.
