BACK TO VILLAGE|DDC Poonch reviews modalities, briefs media

District Development Commissioner, Poonch, Rahul Yadav, Sunday chaired a meeting of district officers to discuss modalities for implementation of ‘Back to Village’ programme in the district.

AdditionalDeputy Commissioner, Malikzada Sheraz ul Haq, Assistant CommissionerDevelopment, Abdul Qayoom, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Bashir Ahmed Lone,Sub Divisional Magistrate, Surankote Salaam Quryeshi, Chief Medical Officer,Mumtaz Bhatti, Tehildars and other officers of different departments werepresent in the meeting.

   

TheDDC directed the officers to interact with the people at panchayat level andtake a firsthand account of their issues. He asked the officers to submit areport to the administration for the redressal of grievances.

Yadavalso said that they will be the nodal agency for the programme. It was alsodecided that the different department shall organise fests to aware the publicabout welfare schemes.

He directedthe officers to prepare a Panchayat-wise action plan for their respectivedepartments for effective implementation of ‘Back to Village’ programme andsaid that every institution, including Education, Health and Anganwari Centres,should remain open from June 19 to 29.

Heasked the Rural Development department to organize activities each Panchayat inaddition to the activities of other departments.

Hefurther informed that each department will carry out various awareness andextension activities at Panchayat and village level. Besides, every officershall be allotted one panchayat where the officer has to stay for one night andtwo days for assessment of the grievances at panchayat level.

Meanwhile,the DDC also held a press conference regarding the programme and briefed themedia persons about the objectives of the programme.

Revealingthe objective, he said that gazetted officers shall be allotted differentPanchayat Halqas where they would stay for one night and two days forassessment of the developmental scenario and implementation of variousgovernment schemes.

Yadavurther informed the media persons that this is the first time that such aninitiative has been taken up in Jammu and Kashmir state by the government, inwhich the officers would be visiting the assigned village for 8 days during theprogramme.He also informed thatdifferent departments shall organise fests to create awareness among the publicabout the schemes being implemented by their respective departments.
