BJP for reopening ‘pending’ cases against Hurriyat leaders

Welcoming governor’s decision to withdraw security cover of the Hurriyat leaders, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has said time has come to “reopen all pending cases registered against separatist leaders”.

“The administration has done condemnable job by withdrawing the security of the Hurriyat leaders, who betrayed the nation and enjoyed privileges in the past,” BJP state president Ravinder Raina said while addressing a press conference.

“It’s time to reopen all cases registered at different police stations against the Hurriyat leaders and conduct speedy trials to put Geelani (Syed Ali Shah), Mirwaiz (Umar Farooq)  and and Yasin Malik in Delhi’s Tihar jail or Rajasthan’s Jodpur jail,” Raina said.

Calling the Hurriyat leaders as “murders” and “traitors”, Rain said, “They snatched books and pens from Kashmiri youth and provide them with guns and stones, so their real place is in jail.”

Reacting to PDP president Mehbooba Mufti’s statement in which she advocated dialogues with Pakistan, Raina said, “Don’t know why Mehbooba Mufti’s heart beats for Pakistan.”

Targeting the Congress, the NC and the PDP leaders for having “soft corner” for Pakistan and its “sponsored militants”, he said, “Those who favour Pakistan need to be taught a lesson.”

Raina said that now the “civil society” of Kashmir has also started to understand the reality that “these leaders have no respect for the lives of common masses”. The civil society of Kashmir, he said, is now “supporting security forces and coming forward to join them in large numbers.”
