BSF, Pak Rangers hold commander level meeting

Border Security Force (BSF) and the Pakistan Rangers on Tuesday held a commander-level flag meeting at the International Border (IB) and vowed to maintain peace and tranquillity at the border.

“A sector commander level meeting was held between BSF and Pakistan Rangers on international border in Suchetgarh area from 11.30 am to 1.00 pm,” Jammu based BSF spokesperson said.

   

The BSF delegation comprising 16 officers was led by P S Dhiman, DIG BSF Jammu sector and Brigadier Amjad Mehmud, sector commander Chenab Rangers, Sialkote Punjab, Pakistan led the Pakistan delegation comprising of 14 officers.

During meeting, commanders of both the border guarding forces, inter alia, discussed various issues including firing on international border, presence of suspects in border areas and other routine issues related to border management. It was decided to re-energize instant communication between field commanders, whenever required, to resolve the petty matters.
