Jammu and Kashmir government has constituted a committee for reformation of cost estimation procedure of Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation Ltd (JKPCCL).
As per a government order, sanction has been accorded to theconstitution of a committee for reformation of cost estimation procedure ofJammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation Ltd.
Development Commissioner (Works), J&K, has beenappointed as Chairman of the committee.
Chief Engineer, Public Works (R&B) Department Kashmir,Chief Engineer, Mechanical Engineering Department Jammu, Chief Engineer, PublicHealth Engineering Department, Kashmir,Chief Engineer (M&RE), Power Development Department, Jammu, Chief Engineer,Design Inspections and Quality Control(DIQC), J&K, Executive Director Jammu Construction Corporation Ltd andDirector Finance, Public Works (R&B) Department have been appointed asmembers.
The Committee would examine the existing cost estimationprocedures by the corporation and submit a detailed proposal for making theprocedure more transparent, cost effective and include service level indicatorson the outcome of the projects.
It will also explore the option of proper technical vettingof the DPRs through third party. The committee shall be serviced by the JKPCCLtd. and shall submit its recommendations within a period of 15 days, thegovernment order said.
