Committees constituted to monitor 4-laning of Srinagar-Jammu Highway

In order to redress issues on Jammu-Srinagar four laning work, the Government today constituted divisional level committee and two district committees to coordinate and monitor progress, and timely completion of shifting progress of transmission towers and other related issued.

As per the order issued by the General AdministrationDepartment (GAD), the Divisional Level Committee, Jammu, will be headed by theDivisional Commissioner, Jammu, SanjeevVerma as its chairman and five other officialswill be its members.

   

They are Managing Director, J&K Power TransmissionCorporation Ltd, Jammu, Managing Director SFC Jammu, Chief Conservator ofForests, Jammu, Regional Officer, National Highway authority of India, andChief Engineer, Public Works (R&B) Department, Jammu.

Similarly, officials from Ramban and Udhampur districts havebeen made the part of District Level Committee under the respective DistrictMagistrates of Udhampur and Ramban as Chairmen.

Divisional Forest Officer, Udhampur and Ramban, DivisionalManager SFC Udhampur and Ramban, Executive Engineer, S&O (Transmission),Udhampur and Ramban, Project Officer, National Highway Authority of India, andExecutive Engineer, Public Works (R&B) Department, Udhampur and Ramban havebeen appointed as members.

The district level committee will function in coordinationwith the divisional level committee and submit their weekly progress report tothe divisional commissioner Jammu who will examine and forward the same to theoffice of the chief secretary. The order was issued by the GAD in reference tothe PIL number 5 of 2015 titled Civil Society, Tralvs State of J&K andOrs-constitution of Divisional and District Level Committees.
