Condemnations pour in against Pulwama attack

Different organisations on Saturday condemned the Pulwama attack that claimed lives of 49 CRPF men. 

An emergency meeting of the GurjarDesh Charitable Trust was held here wherein the members of the trust strongly condemned the militant attack and expressed sympathy with the families of the slain soldiers.

   

A two minutes’ silence was observed and the trust urged the government to give befitting reply to Pakistan so that such acts of militancy wouldn’t be repeated again.

Meanwhile, the trust appealed the people to maintain peace in the region and not to fall prey to rumours.

The Bari Brahamana Industries Association (BBIA) also held a meeting under the stewardship of its president, Lalit Mahajan to pay homage to the slain soldiers.

The meeting comprising of office bearers of the organisations including Suresh Mahjan, senior vice-president; Ajay Langar, general secretary, VivekSinghal, secretary; Viraaj Malhotra, treasurer and other members of the association, observed a two minutes’ silence to pay respect to the soldiers and expressed sympathies with the families of the slain soldiers.

The meeting also adopted a resolution sharing grief, anguish and anger over the killing of the soldiers and appealed the people to maintain peace in the region.   

The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) vice-chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor also offered deep sympathies to the families of the slain soldiers and held prayers for the injured jawans.

“AMU condemns this abhorrent and dastardly attack and we are deeply saddened for the loss of lives. Our heartfelt sympathies are for the families of the soldiers who lost their lives” said the vice-chancellor adding that his thoughts are with the families of the brave CRPF personnel, who laid down their lives for the country.

Aligarh Muslim University teachers strongly condemned the attack and a resolution was passed in the executive committee (EC) of AMU Teachers Association (AMUTA) to condemn the attack.
