Cong executive committee adopts resolution, expresses grief over attack on CRPF convoy

Executive committee of the Congress party on Friday passed a resolution to express grief, anguish and anger over the attack at CRPF convoy at Lethpora. In the attack more than 40 CRPF men were killed.

 In a statement here a spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee said that a meeting of the executive committee was chaired by the JKPCC chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir here. The meeting was  attended by senior leaders of the party. “This executive committee shares the grief, anguish and anger of the nation over the heavy loss of lives and injuries to several others in the dastardly attack over a CRPF Convoy at Awantipora Pulwama on Thursday,” the spokesman quoted participants as having said. 

   

The participants expressed sympathies with the families of the deceased CRPF men.  “We deeply feel the pain of the families of the deceased and no amount of words can express their grief,” the participants said.  “The party stands in solidarity with the nation and calls for an appropriate and effective response to avenge the killings. We are united in our fight against violence and to isolate the enemies of peace and harmony of our nation,” they added. 

The Congress leaders urged people to express their “anger and anguish unitedly in a peaceful and non-violent manner and maintain communal harmony at all costs to defeat the designs of the enemy.”
