COVID-19|Jammu admin bans entry to religious places till Mar 31

District Magistrate, Jammu Sushma Chouhan on Wednesday imposed complete ban on entry to religious places across the district, under National Disaster Management Act-2005.

The ban was imposed toavoid assembly of people as a measure amid the Coronavirus threat.

   

As per the order therewill be strict restriction on assembly of worshippers, pilgrims, and devoteesat temples, mosques, Gurudwara, and churches.

“In order to check thetransmission of CVOID-19, social distancing is a strict norm that needs to befollowed at all places. Our places of workshop happen to be major centre ofmass gathering,” reads the order.

According to the DM, therewill be complete ban on the entry of devotes and pilgrims to all places ofworship with immediate effect.

“These restrictions willapply to all the major religious events like Navratra, Shab-e-Miraj, and Fridayprayers till March 31 whereas the religious teacher are authorized to continueto follow norms of prayers and worship,” according to the DM Jammu.
