In a major breakthrough, Cyber Police Jammu Friday claimed to have unearthed a gang involved in an insurance fraud case, with the arrest of three accused from Bijnor, UP. The police also recovered Rs 10 lakh, looted from gullible people of Jammu and Kashmir UT.
According to cyber police spokesperson, on January 16, 2021, a complaint was received at Cyber police station Jammu by one person namely Maidul Islam that he received a call on December 7, 2020 from unknown fraudsters, pretending themselves from Max Insurance Company. They lured the complainant by offering him a bonus amount and subsequently convinced him to deposit a fee to claim the due insurance bonus and eventually duped him of an amount of Rs 10 lakh in multiple transactions.
