Day 4: Hunger strike by Rassana women on

The ongoing hunger strike by women from Rassana and adjoining villages at Kootha Morh on Jammu-Pathankot highway, who are demanding transfer of Kathua rape and murder case of an 8-year-old nomad girl to CBI from Crime Branch, entered fourth day on Tuesday.

As per officials, the health of Trishla Devi, 50, mother of accused Parvesh Kumar, who is on hunger strike deteriorated on Tuesday. “Similarly, Anjana Sharma, 31, aunty of accused Parvesh, Darshna Devi, 50, mother of accused SPO Deepak Khajuria and Sushma Devi, 31, wife of SPO Surinder Verma, who are also on hunger strike underwent medical checkups,” said an official, adding that none of the women on strike agreed to break their fast despite having high blood pressure and low sugar levels.

   

The women on hunger strike said they would break their fast only when the government responds to their demand of transferring the case to CBI.
