Director General, Fire and Emergency Services, V.K. Singh today visited the families of the two deceased fire fighters of the department, Firdous Ahmed Bhat and Fayaz Ahmed Parray of Kulgam district, to condole their demise.
Both the officials died on duty when a snow avalanche hit Fire & Emergency Station Jawahar Tunnel on February 7, 2019. The Director General expressed heartfelt condolence with the bereaved families and assured them that everything would be done to provide succour to them.
Singh also visited the spot where the incident had taken place and appreciated the rescue operation conducted by various agencies.
