DGP sanctions scholarships for meritorious police wards

Director General of Police, Dr. S.P Vaid has sanctioned Rs 5.90 lakh scholarships in favour of meritorious wards of police personnel, a police handout said.

 “A reward of Rs 6000 each has been sanctioned to 25 wards of police personnel who have secured above ninety per cent marks and Rs 5000 for the 88 wards who have secured above eighty per cent in the annual examination of 12th class this year,” it said.

“Besides, a reward of Rs 10,000 each has been sanctioned in favour of three wards of police personnel who have qualified competitive examination conducted by PSC/Central boards during this year.

“Scholarships in different categories are given to the police wards out of contributory police welfare fund with the aim to inculcate a spirit of competition among them and prepare for competitive exams of professional courses.”
