DGP Singh reviews police preparation

“Do not leave anything undone”. This was directed by Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh while chairing a high level meeting with heads of all police wings, zones, districts and units to review preparation of the police in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, on Saturday.

The meeting was attended by ADGs, B Srinivas; AK Choudhary;Deepak Kumar; SJM Gillani; AG Mir; IGPs SD Singh Jamwal; T Namgyal; MukeshSingh; MK Sinha; Danesh Rana; Gareeb Dass; Alok Kumar; DIG JSK, Bhim Sen Tuti;DPT, Nisar Ahmed; AIGs of PHQ; SSP, PCR Jammu; medical superintendent, PoliceHospital, Jammu Dr Abdul Majeed Malik and gazetted officers of PHQ.

   

Those officers who participated in the meeting via videoconferencing included IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, all district SSPs of Kashmir andJammu and medical superintendent Police Hospital Srinagar Dr Bilal Ahmad.

The DGP directed the officers to make all efforts so thatthe disease does not spread in the community.

He said that in all District Police Lines isolation roomsmust be created. He said suitable places must be identified for providingquarantine facilities to the police personnel.

The IGPs were directed to create all the facilities inconsultation with the Superintendent of Police, Hospitals Jammu and Srinagarrespectively. He directed the zonal IGPs and the medical superintendent tovisit these places and make a list of the requirements so that the facilitieswere made operations as quick as possible.

He said since police have to respond to different situationswhich include quarantine designated places, the personnel deployed for suchduties must be having full protecting gear so that they were safeguarded.

Singh directed that a gazetted officer be designated by allthe units as an officer in charge for the efforts with regard to COVID-19pandemic in all the units.

The DGP said mechanism must be placed on the front gates ofall the police stations, police posts and establishments so that the complaintswere redressed on priority basis.

He directed the DDOs and heads of different wings thatoffices and articles must be sanitized by putting to use all the availablemeans.

He said religious leaders must be advised to discouragecongregations. He said all the precautions must be taken and there must not beany loop holes or gaps left in the fight against this pandemic.
