Disclose travel history: DGP to people

Director General of Police J&K Dilbag Singh has appealed to people of Jammu and Kashmir to come forward and disclose their travel history or if they are in contact with any person with coronavirus.

“There is no harm in disclosing travel details. It is forthe safety and security of the individuals and their families/ relatives andfor the communities that they reveal their travel history. So far more than1200 people have been traced with the cooperation of general public,” he said.

   

He said the outreach programmes conducted by the JK Policeat the grassroot level helped in controlling the social/religious gatherings.

He said police would be very strict against the violators oflockdown.

He said that 118 shops, 490 vehicles have been seized fordefying the government orders.

He said that 337 FIRs were lodged against the violators inwhich 627 persons have been arrested. He added that most of arrested were lateron released after sensitizing them about the threat. The DGP said that Dial 100of J&K Police in every district and Union Territory’s Dial 112 are activeto help all those who wanted any type of assistance.

“Police Hospitals at Srinagar and Jammu have opened manyhelplines. Police is also using its resources to help all those migrantlabourers who have no work these days by providing ration or by organizing itwith the help of locals.”
