Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, today visited Patnitop area and reviewed the development of Patnitop, Batote, Sanasar tourist circuit at a meeting with the officers concerned.
The government has proposed to develop Patnitop andadjoining areas as tourist hub as well as medical destination. The meetingreviewed the performance of Patnitop Development Authority (PDA), JKTDC andTourism Department. Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Showkat Aijaz Bhat along withsenior officers of the departments concerned attended the meeting.
The main issues discussed in the meeting includedmaintenance of existing roads and early completion of ongoing projects, constructionof a Sports Stadium, Wellness Centre,Park, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Underground Power cable project, cable carproject from Batote to Baghlihar and widening of Batote-Baghlihar road.Verma directed the PWD to prepare acomprehensive road connectivity project for Patnitop, Sanasar Nathatop andBatote area for attracting tourists. He asked the DC Ramban to explore thepossibility for the construction of International Sports Stadium at Sanasar onproposed land and DYSSO was directed to visit alongwith the team of SportsCouncil of India for the purpose.
