Duping youth over govt jobs | Charge-sheet filed against accused in Jammu

Crime Branch Jammu Sunday produced supplementary charge-sheet against the accused for duping gullible youth on the pretext of providing them with government jobs in MES headquarters, Srinagar.

The supplementary charge-sheet has been produced after the death of main accused Ashok Kumar.

   

According to SSP Crime Branch Jammu, a supplementary charge-sheet was produced against accused Ashok Kumar (now expired) son of Jabru Ram resident of Allah tehsil Bishnah district Jammu in case FIR No. 11/2019 U/S 420,465,467,468,471,120-B RPC P/S Crime Branch Jammu for his involvement in duping the complainant and other unemployed youth fraudulently of over Rs 12.00 lakh, after inducing and luring them on the pretext of providing with government jobs in MES headquarters Srinagar, in league with two other fraudsters.

A written complaint was lodged by complainants Makhan Singh son of Munshi Ram resident of village Batoli Patair, Billawar district Kathua, Ranjit Singh son of Shamsher Singh resident of tehsil Ramnagar district Udhampur, Sunil Singh son of Padam Dev Singh resident of Ram Nagar district Udhampur and Rakesh Kumar son of Sham Lal, resident of district Udhampur. The complainants alleged that the accused had illegally extorted huge sum of Rs 12.50 lakhs fraudulently from the complainants (un-employed youth) on the pretext of providing job in MES Headquarters Srinagar on November 30, 2015. He (main accused) had handed over fake appointment orders to them and at the time of joining, they came to know that neither such record was available at MES Headquarters Srinagar nor any verification letters were issued by them (MES HQ Srinagar).

Crime Branch Jammu initiated criminal proceedings against the accused by registering the instant case for the omissions and commissions on their part, which prima facie, constituted offences  punishable U/S 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B RPC. During the course of investigation authentication of appointment letters from the concerned MES department was sought and the letters were found false and fabricated.
