EJAC Jammu province unit reconstituted

Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) Wednesday reconstituted its Jammu provincial body.

The newly elected president of EJAC Mohammed Rafique Rather, said that Rajesh Singh Jamwal was elected as the new president of the reconstituted Committee for Jammu region.

Other elected members included Mriginayani Salathia as vice-president, Darshan Lal as general secretary, Lal Singh as coordinator, Sanjay Kumar Sharma as organiser and Omesh Raina as secretary.

Rather hoped that EJAC provincial body for Jammu would highlight the issues and problems of employees in general and employees of Jammu region in particular and would seek redress to them through constitutional ways and means.

He appealed to Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for his personal intervention to address employees’ issues.

He demanded regularization of daily wagers and casual labourers working in different Government department J&K for last many years.

“They are the backbone of government departments. The government should implement the Minimum Wage Act in J&K and release pending wages of the daily wagers and other workers,” he said.
